Free Submit Day for WILD THINGS!

Calling all wild writers! TODAY, November 1st, is the only day for free submissions to our 29.2 Themed Issue: WILD THINGS. Today from 8 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. CT, you can find the free submit portal available via this special link to our free Submittable page. This portal is capped at 25 submissions and will close after that limit has been reached, so don't wait!

Please keep in mind that free submissions are intended solely for writers who could not otherwise afford to submit their work to us. If you can afford our submission fee, we kindly ask that you leave the free submission space open for another writer and submit using our regular Submittable page.

General submissions for WILD THINGS remain open until November 15th. Send us your work about animals, trees, herbs, wilderness, rivers, floods, droughts, tornadoes, the environment, humans in the wild, humans gone wild, or anything else you could call untamed!

We'll read flash stories and essays of up to 1,000 words and full-length stories and essays of up to 5,000 words, or approximately 17 pages. For poetry, please send us 3 to 5 poems in a single submission. Poems should generally be under 3 pages in length each.

We look forward to reading your wild work!
