call for submissions: party issue

In Iron Horse’s theme issue for 2023, we want to party! Send us your poems that center around celebrations: birthday, anniversary, going away, coming home, Super Bowl, baby showers, bachelor or bachelorette, dinner or cocktail, housewarming, costume, tea, slumber, hurricane watch, toga, block, or raves. Any type of party!

For our print issues, we read flash and stories up to 6,000 words (approx. 17 pages). Stories longer than 6,000 words should be submitted to our annual IHLR Long Story Issue, not here. We do not have length requirements for poetry, and read submissions of 3-5 poems max (placed in ONE file).

Our submission window for the 24.2 Party Issue is open from October 15th to November 15th. The Free Submit Day will be November 1. Submit at ironhorse.submittable.com
