We are pleased to announce that we were selected by Best American Essays as one of the notable themed issues of 2019 for our Apocalypse issue. We want to thank all of our contributors for that issue, which featured essays by Tianli Kilpatrick and Annie Bleeker, poems by Corrie Williamson, Megan Arlett, Karina Borowicz, Melanie D. Sirof, Genevieve DeGuzman, Laton Carter, and Eric Greenwell, and fiction by Ciera Horton McElroy, Mel Goldberg, Wynne Hungerford, Charles Green, and Colin Rafferty.

If you want to grab a copy of the Apocalypse issue, check out our shop now. Apocalypse is issue 21.1, which you can order for just $5 as a back issue. You can also check out all of our themed issues and everything else we publish by perusing our index.

Each year, Iron Horse releases an issue with some theme we think important at that time. And we couldn't imagine an issue more important than Power right now. With our democracy under threat at this very moment, we think our platforms for empowering voices are more important than ever. If you want to contribute to our annual series, our submission gate for the Power issue is open now. We'll be accepting submissions for just three more days, though, so please send us your work. We'd love to see it! You can check out our submission portal here.
